Paul Harley
One of the English Lake Districts
Most
Popular and Collected Living Artists |
Paul Harley was born on the outskirts of Birmingham in a small
village called Barnt
Green. From an early age he had an affinity
with the countryside and its wildlife. He loved to draw
and paint his surroundings and from there his natural ability has developed
into the acclaimed artist he is today.
Although he is mainly self-taught, he did seek tuition during
a two year convalescence period, before turning
professional in 1984.
Having lived in the Lake
District for a number of years he is very familiar
with the beauty spots it is so famous for. An accomplished
photographer he is greatly inspired
by the dramatic effects the changes in season and the times of
day has on the stunning scenery. It is this ambience he captures
in his paintings,
the majesty of the mountains and the reflections in the Lakes.
As a keen fell walker his spare time is spent walking in the
Lake District, always searching for another spectacular
landscape to put on canvas. Cumbria is
home to England’s
highest mountain and largest lake, the area abounds with beauty
and splendour that has moved famous poets to write of it and
artists to illustrate.
Having experimented with most mediums Paul
now paints with artists’ oil
colours on fine quality stretched canvas.
Now with new technology of professional
high quality digital images and large format printers, Paul
Harley produces “ Giclee′ Prints ”……… using
the finest materials they offer a lifetime of pleasure. |
